- [Narrator] Let's go ahead and create some sounds together with Prophet-5. So, one great way to learn sound design when you're working with these kinds of plug-ins is to reverse engineer presets. If you're going to make a lead sound, for example, select one of the lead sound presets. And then take notice of knob positions and settings, like where the oscillators are, how the filters set, et cetera. In this case, let's go in and start from scratch and make some sounds together. So, I'm on the default setting with the preset "Fascination" selected. And let's go ahead and hear that. (riff plays) So it's a very long, kind of chorus-y, sustain-y sound. And let's take this sound and see if we can turn it into more of a bassline. So, first, one of the things I'm going to do is turn off our delay and our chorus. And let's hear how this sounds. (riff plays) Still definitely not like a bassline. So I'm noticing that in our envelope section, there's a ton of decay here and I'm just going to go…
