Creating harmonies with Melodyne

- [Instructor] Like Antares Autotune, Melodyne is another powerful tool when it comes to processing the pitch for vocals. Although it can be used very effectively as a tuning software, here we'll explore a unique feature of Melodyne where you can actually create harmony parts using the tool in Pro Tools. First you see we have a duplicated vocal part. We have the lead vocal simply copied and pasted down into this vocal double track. Let me go ahead an Insert the Melodyne plugin in the vocal double track. So under Other, we have our Melodyne. And this pops up a window where we'll have to transfer the sound of the vocal in that track into Melodyne. This is how Melodyne works. Basically you play the sound into Melodyne, it records the sound and the notes into Melodyne, and then you can alter them there.
