Doubling vocals in post-production

- [Narrator] In the companion to this course, Vocal Production Techniques, we discussed the nuances of capturing a doubled vocal to add texture and vibe to the lead vocal. But what if you didn't record one and still want that texture? It turns out there's an easy way to manufacture a doubled vocal part effectively to add some spice to your vocal sound. Here's how we could do this. We'll start by duplicating the part we want to double. So here, we want to double the pre-chorus. Go ahead and select pre-chorus and I'm gonna make a new track. Pull it up underneath the main vocal track and I'll name it Vocal Double. Now, I want to simply copy and paste this part into the double track, so command + C and I'll move the cursor down, command + V. Now, if you simply double a part like this, all it effectively does is make the part louder.
