- [Instructor] Sometimes a drum sounds just too wimpy to deal with. Here's the classic way to breathe some new life into it so it happily fits with all the other instruments yet without using a plugin. First of all, let's listen to our snare sound right now because that's the weak element of our drum kit. (drums) We've compressed it, we've EQed it, we've done everything we can and it still doesn't sound as big and as fat as we'd like. The easy thing to do would be to use one of the drum replacement plugin tools and they work really well, but let's say you only want to do four bars, and it's a pain to set the whole thing up. This might be an easier way to do it, or, you don't have a drum replacement tool and you would rather do it the old fashioned way. Well, this is the way we used to do it prior to really effective drum replacement tools. First thing we're going to do is add a new track.
