- [Instructor] Pro Tools provides an abundance of editing commands that you can use on the audio and MIDI clips in your sessions. Here, we'll take a look at a few common Edit menu commands, and some Pro Tools specific commands that are unique to working with clips. You may be familiar with commands like Cut, Copy, and Paste from other applications. In Pro Tools, they work the same way that you would expect. If you select some audio, and then use the Cut command, it removes the audio from the playlist, placing it on your computer's clipboard for use elsewhere. So then, you can paste it into a different location, either on the same track or on a different track. And, of course, you also have access to Undo operations as well, to go backwards. The Copy command will do the same thing, without removing the audio from your timeline, placing a copy on the clipboard. The Clear command in Pro Tools is exactly the same as hitting the Delete key.
