- [Narrator] For "The Assurance" I decided to try and get an orchestra together 'cause, you know, why not, right? I mean, this whole project was one huge experiment. So I thought I might as well try it. But there was a problem. Well, you know, I say a problem. There was thousands of problems. But the biggest problem was I didn't have a very big budget, like at all. And see, Seattle, where I made this film, is a popular spot for film score recording. And as such, most orchestral musicians that I know are part of the union and charge $60 an hour. And I would need to record them somewhere so I'd have to spend money on both the recording studio as well as studio engineers to record that. In this scenario, I could basically afford two musicians for two hours. Well, that wouldn't get me the sound that I needed. And my score is really simple.
