- [Instructor] There are room sounds and then there are huge room sounds. Here's how to turn those room mic tracks into something big enough that you won't even think about using another effect. First of all let's listen to the drum track and I'm going to gradually bring in the room mics. (drum music) Now you can hear what happened. Not only did the track get bigger, but there was a certain glue that the room mics bring to it. But the problem is we may not have had a big enough room to get the effect we want. And there are ways that we can actually compensate for that and make the room sound bigger than it is. In this case I think the room mics were six or seven foot back in a fairly live room. But let's say we want something huge, gigantic. Well we can actually make that happen. First of all, take notice that what I've done I've put the room mics, in this case it says distant left, distant right, and I've put them into their own sub group.
