- [Instructor] So, for you mix engineers out there watching this, you're used to turning in your first draft of a mix or your first pass of a mix and then getting comments and notes back from the band, the producer, the A and R person, the manager, various types of individuals involved in the making of a record. And what I want to do with this series, and starting with this chapter on low-fi mix techniques, is to show you some of the many ways you can interpret some of these notes and comments and implement solutions and inject into the audio sounds that reflect the terms that you might get like distort this, add some grit to that, saturate the vocal, make it low-fi and more. I'll select some prime examples of instruments and vocals where these notes usually apply and that's usually drums, vocals, keyboards, sometimes effects and try to show you two or three different methods you can use to achieve the desired result.
