- [Speaker] We're going to devote chapter to location mix techniques, and some of the notes you'll get regarding location can be something like, give a stronger center. That's usually going to apply to something that's a stereo field, even your entire stereo mix might be a candidate for that particular note. Another one could be, make the stereo field wider, make the mix wider. You could get sounds left or right-heavy, the vocal sounds too far away, the guitars feel like they're in a different room than the rest of the band. These kinds of things indicate that the location of an element of your mix, or the appearance of your entire mix, and some of those earlier comments are what you need to address. And a long time ago, a very prominent and well-known wonderful producer complemented me on my mixing, he said, "You know, your mixes, they have this."
