- [Instructor] Adding warmth to a mix takes the shape of equalization more than anything for me, and I've chosen the keyboards and background vocals groups once again, to demonstrate the addition of warmth via an equalizer. So, here's the song that we're going to be effecting. Ben Kessler, "Deja Vu" there's keyboards, let me turn on this equalizer. There's a special effect when the pads enter. That's warmth, remember we talked about the frequency range? So I've selected 172 a little norm- lower than you'd think. But there it is, it's a perfect example of warmth, low end frequency addition. Keyboards can really warm up a track when you key them, in the right region. Let's go to our background group again. And you can see I've already added some warmth, we talked about this tapehead saturation device, to these vocals, so I'll show you first before I add any EQ, with and without that, tapehead device, I'll mute that for a second.
