Moving mics while reamping

- [Instructor] A while back, I started thinking up new ways to create special sound effects by using reamping via studio monitors and mic placement. My thought that was just about anyone that is recording would have one or two microphones, and some sort of speaker or two that they were using. So these are tricks that almost anyone could try out. For this experiment, I put the mic pair on a large Starbird mic stand, and tried swinging the mics around. But what I found out right away was that moving the mic stand created large bumps or handling noises in the mic's audio output. You can see these in spectral view. Note the large yellow energy spikes at the bottom of the screen. Here I'll solo the low-end energy, and you might want to use really good headphones to be able to hear these really subharmonic bumps. If I were to use tracks like this, we'd need to filter out low-end or find ways to isolate the mics even more from…
