- [Instructor] When it comes to working on your lyric, having a word processing document open on your computer and up on the screen can be hugely helpful. First and foremost, when it's up on the screen, your lyric is much, much easier to refer to and look at, which means that while you're playing your instrument, or doing whatever you're doing you can just glance up at the screen and there is the lyric. Secondarily, when you need to switch things around, for example you've decided that your first verse would work better as a second verse, or you want to try a different line but you're not sure if you want to go back to the original line. Although writing your lyrics in a notebook is romantic, and can be helpful in the early, early stages of kind of fleshing something out, it is much, much easier to manipulate a lyric when it's in a word processing document and up on your screen.
