- Recording with computers gives us great power and allows us all kinds of automation. You know, there's a lot of ways to do that in the computer, we can use the Volume Automation and change levels on that and things like that. I really don't do a lot of that, especially when it comes to effects, I don't even, a lot of times, use Auxiliary Sense which is a really typical way of doing effects in a track. So I'm going to show you one of the ways that I really like to do my effects, especially on something like a lead vocal. So we're starting with a lead vocal here. ♫ Holy prophets ♫ And it's dry except for a little bit of room tone, that's the actual physical room there, that we're hearing. So, what I'm going to do is duplicate this track, and, make one copy of it. Now this is going to be our effects track here, let's just label it so we know what we're doing.
