- [Instructor] Now I want to demonstrate another volume move that can be helpful when you're interpreting notes. And I want to start with an example, I'm going to start and finish with the same example actually of a part here in this song that's rather buried. So I'll play the chorus of this song and see if you can pick it out. ("Stupid For You" by Waterparks) ♫ Hey tell me what you want me to say That's what I want to focus on. Now, where it sits in the mix now is a classic example of something that's really more felt than heard, and that's fine. But there's a lot going on in this sound. Let me solo it again. (isolated synth) The most apparent sound is happening in the upper frequency of the mid-range, so we can find that by boosting, making something very narrow, boosting and sweeping. (synth) So that's where it really sounds the most present without anything added, just listening to that sound. That's where I really hear it.
