- [Instructor] Sometimes you want a super big reverb sound, but you don't want the tail that goes along with it. With just a little bit of finessing, you can get a huge sounding verb that fits right in with any modern track. So first of all, let's listen to our track again. This is Electrolux by SNEW. And we'll listen to it without any effects. (rock track plays) And what we really want is to make this snare drum sound bigger. So, here's a snare by itself. (snare drum plays) Okay, so for that, what we're going to do is go to our friend the deverb. (snare plays with added reverb) (track plays with added reverb) It's a good sounding reverb, but it doesn't give us quite the sound we want. We want it to sound big and fat and aggressive, and it's not that, and that's because it has a really long decay time. Now we can shorten it and you've heard in other examples what happens when we do that but there's another way around it. We could put a gate on the end. So listen to this gate and I…
