Too much room sound on the vocals

- [Instructor] One difficulty I deal with when mixing other folks' sessions is poorly-recorded vocals. There's a number of things that can go wrong and I totally understand why, it's not always the easiest part of the job, but vocals with too much room tone are one problem I deal with all the time. For this example, I recorded a vocal up-close to a condenser microphone, pretty standard operating procedure, right there. And I also recorded the vocal further away from the mic, you can see here, a good number of feet away, and adjusted the mic pre-amp level so that it would sit in the mix properly and everything. So let's listen, this is the mic we're going to hear first, the microphone that's recorded closely in a kind of standard position.
