Understanding Folder Tracks

- [Instructor] Pro Tools 2020 introduced a new track category called folder tracks. Folder tracks come in two varieties. Using the new tracks dialog box, we can create either a basic folder track or a routing folder track. We'll take a look at both options here in just a second. One of the uses for folder tracks is to help organize the other tracks in a session. This becomes especially significant for large sessions with dozens or even hundreds of tracks. Folder tracks serve as containers for visually grouping sets of related tracks together into a collapsible view. The difference between a basic folder and a routing folder is that basic folder tracks do not have any signals routing through them. By contrast, routing folder tracks have all of the signal routing functionality of an aux input track. So here, I'm just going to create one of each type.
