Using Little Labs IBP for phase on bass guitar or DI situations

- When you record bass guitar, and you record an amp and a DI signal at the same time. One of the things that's going to happen is they're never going to be truly in phase. If we zoom in and look at the wave forms that we've recorded, like this. Takes awhile to get in this far, we're gonna see kind of the basic sign wave of the bass guitar going from left to right. It's kind of rough and scratchy looking, because that's the timbre of everything, but you can see that the DI track is just slightly coming in ahead of the microphone track. The reason for that is really quite simple. The DI track is a pure electronic signal coming off of the base guitar. The amplifier track is a microphone where there's a speaker and the microphone picking up the speaker, so it's traveling through air, so it's always going to take longer than traveling through wire, pretty simple physics, and I hope everyone understands that.
