Using reverb send to enhance vocals

- [Voiceover] Producers and mix engineers love to use reverb on vocals, why? Reverb tends to not only gloss over imperfections with a vocal but it can also add a nice stereo space around the usually mono vocal track so it has its own texture in a mix. Let's look at how we can use ascend in Pro Tools to apply a stereo blend of reverb to our lead vocal. First we want to make ascend that comes off of the lead vocal. So let's show our sends column here in the edit window. I'll show sends A-E. So now I want to send the vocal on a bus, a bus is an internal routing in Pro Tools that splits the signal off and sends it to another location within Pro Tools mixer. So go in here and I'll choose bus. Now I'm going to choose a stereo bus, bus one and two and that way we can make the reverb aspect of our vocal in stereo while the original track of vocals is still a mono track. So there we've got our send, it's on bus one and two, now we need to make a destination for this bus. So let me go ahead and…
