What is sound design?
- [Instructor] Okay, let's talk about Sound Design. Sound Design is a really broad term it doesn't have a specific definition. Sound design can technically encompass several processes but for the purposes of this training course, when I say sound design, I'm referring to the process of creating the sounds of a fictional world. The sounds of footsteps, birds in the sky, wind, explosions, whatever the scene requires. Now, sound design isn't just for big budget movies or just for specific genres. Sound design creates a more engaging experience for the viewer, regardless of the style of movie. Audio itself is just so engaging. And as the audience feels more engaged with your film, well, they feel more engaged with your film. Sound design allows viewers to sink more deeply into the world that you're creating, whatever that world is.
