Working with Master Faders

- [Instructor] Master faders provide many useful functions for your mix in Pro Tools. Let's spend a minute or two getting to know a bit more about them. In Pro Tools master faders function to control the signal levels for their associated outputs and bus paths. Master faders can be used to control and process output mixes by setting levels and adding plug-ins, to monitor output levels using the track metering, to control submix levels, and control effect send levels, and control levels on submaster buses by assigning the master fader to the associated bus, and lastly to apply dither processing for a mix with a dither plug-in. In this version of the Crash Down session I don't yet have a master fader. To create a master fader for the session I can use the new tracks dialogue box and set it for a stereo master fader. Or I can simply hold shift and double click at the end of the session. Pro Tools automatically adds a stereo master fader by default. Now the first master fader track that…
