- [Instructor] In this chapter, we're going to look in more detail about our audio workflow and the personnel we used. As I mentioned earlier, once we got picture lock, I started on the score and I sent the audio off for the sound design. Typically you have one sound designer, but we had three. I first found Scot Charles through a mutual friend. I had contacted every recording studio in Seattle that I could find, and no one really impressed me until I found Scot. Scot is an Emmy Award-winning sound designer and really took an interest in the film, which sold me. But I later found out that he didn't do much hands-on work on the film but rather outsourced the work to an associate. I've since learned that this is actually a pretty common practice for established sound designers, but I didn't really resonate with the direction we were going in, so I decided to hit up my long-time buddy, Jacob Kinch.
