Label vector data, part 1

- [Instructor] Any vector layer can be labeled using its attached attributes. The labels can be tied to a point, line, or any polygon feature. First, let's add the street center lines to our current map. Okay, so here's the street center lines. I'll change the color so they're black, so they're easy to see, go to symbology, color, I'll just pick a black color. There we go. And I want to label them. So the first thing I do is go back into the style. I pick on Labels. Where it says no labels in the drop-down, I'm going to choose single labels. And label with, these are the columns in the shape file that I have to choose from. Everything from street name, to length, to road ID. But we're going to use street name, and I'm not going to change anything else, I'm just going to hit okay. And right away, it's labeling all the street segments with the street name.
