- [Instructor] When you add new layers, for example, in our project I just dragged in the parcels and buildings and assigned them a particular color, but we can actually change the default symbol so that when you add something with a particular fill we can actually give it a default color. So for example, the fill is a gradient. Let's hit okay, and next time I add something that has polygons in it, so maybe I can bring in, see if I've got something else. Oh I'll just bring in the buildings again, and you'll see that these buildings are using that interesting color gradient that I made as default. So you can go back into your project properties and change your default styles so every time you add a style it doesn't necessarily have to be a random one picked by QGIS, but it'll actually just take the one that you said it should be. You can really customize this. Use the style manager, changing color around, and so on…
