- [Instructor] Since QGIS can be installed on many platforms, and is bundled with many types of software, it is important to understand the options for installing prior to installing on your own computer. We will review the flavors of install and what software can be installed. So, if we go to the download page for QGIS, and at the time we've recorded this, we're using the QGIS 3.8.3 Zanzibar release. Now, some of the installation downloads we have, we have a download for Windows. You'll see that there's the OSGeo4W Network installer, both 64-bit and 32-bit, as well as the stand-alone versions. Now, the difference between the network installer and the stand-alone versions is that the stand-alone version usually just installs QGIS by itself whereas the network installer gives us an option for all sorts of opensource software to install, such as SAGA and GRASS, as well as all the OGR tools that are for translation of…
