- [Narrator] What if two of your customers joined forces and become one company, or you find two accounts in your chart of accounts that represent the same thing? In QuickBooks, you can merge two records into one. We're going to see how this works using the chart of accounts. In the navigation bar on the left, point at Accounting and then choose Chart of Accounts. When I look at my chart of accounts, I see that I have two checking accounts, one using the number 1,000 is called Biz Checking and the other one is just called Checking. So let's say that we want to merge these into the Biz Checking account. To do that, go to the row for Biz Checking, go to the action column and click the down arrow and choose Edit. In the account screen, go to the name box, select the contents and press Control + C to copy that to the clipboard. You also want to make sure here that you know what the detail type is.
