Sort and customize table columns

- [Instructor] In QuickBooks Online, you can change the columns that appear in a table and sort the table by any column. To see how this works, I'm going to go over to the sales entry on the navigation bar. You may see invoicing. Then on the sub-menu, choose products and services. In the table for products and services, you'll see fields like name, SKU, type and so on. If you want to change what you see in the table, go up to the settings gear at the top right of the table and click that to open up this menu. There are checkboxes for the columns that are in the table. If you want to add something to the table, turn on the checkbox for that entry like expense account. If you want to remove something, you turn off the checkbox. You can also click show more to see the other fields that are in the table. In addition, you'll see these categories are in the table. If you don't want to see them, turn off the checkbox group by category, then the categories disappear. If you want to see them again, just turn the checkbox back on. When you're done making changes, click the settings gear again to hide the menu. Here, the products and services are sorted by name. You can tell because there's this triangle next to name that shows that it's being sorted in ascending order. If you want to sort by another column, click that name in the heading row for that column. In this case, SKU, and you'll see that the triangle is pointing up, which means ascending order. To switch it to the reverse order, you click it again and now the triangle is pointing down. Also, when you sort by another column, the categories disappear. To get the categories back, we go back to sorting by the name. These techniques work for most tables. Go ahead and try them for the chart of accounts, customer table or vendor table.
