Running payroll reports
- If you use QuickBooks Basic Payroll you have to prepare your payroll tax forms. For the good news, in QuickBooks, payroll reports provide the information you need. If you want to see an overview of payroll go up to the Reports menu, then point it Employees and Payroll and select the Payroll Summary Report. This report shows each employee, going across, and you can see each payroll item and the amount. If you have a lot of employees, it's a pretty wide report. One way to make it a little bit more compact is to click Customize Report up at the top left, then in the Modified Report window turn off Hours and Rate. When you click OK, now all you see are the paycheck numbers for your employees, as well as the total.
