- [Instructor] Sometimes life gets a little complicated and the best answer to a question is it depends. And in data analysis, the it depends answer is an interaction that you can see in a factorial Analysis of Variance. It allows you to look at the means for groups by breaking it down by more than one factor or variable. So you can say, well the effect of this variable depends on the group or the level that they're in on this other variable. Let me show you how to do this in R. We're going to do this by first loading a few packages including the datasets package 'cause we're going to use the one from there, and we're going to use the warp breaks data set because this is a classic factorial experiment. What it is is about weaving with yarn and it has 54 observations where it's looking at the type of wool that's being used and simply calling it A or B and the level of tension that's quoted as low, medium or high.
