- [Instructor] In this video, I will provide some concluding thoughts about the two by two table. Something confused me and some of my classmates about the two by two table when I was a student. We were being taught all about this table, but I had already worked with statisticians who were running statistical models with software that was producing odds ratios, so why were we using this table? It is not something you see published in the literature. The two by two table is simply a framework that you can use as a guide. These tables are like training wheels on a bike. Once you get good at riding, you don't need them anymore. So once you get good at designing studies, you won't even need to write down the two by two table. And also, it is limiting. The world is really not binary. Common measurements, such as financial, weather-related measurements, and sports scores are continuous and it's artificial to make them binary.
