What you should know before watching
- [Instructor] Getting started with Recap is easy. You won't need any previous experience with 3D scanning to start this course. The videos on Meshmixer are paced for beginners and don't expect previous knowledge, but previous CAD experience might be helpful. The final steps of this course use a 3D printer to reproduce the scan. I go through two options for printing. For the first option you'll need access to a desktop filament-based 3D printer. To complete this part of the course I expect that you have experience using this type of printer, but if you need more help look to my course with MakerBot for more detailed instruction or check your manufacturer's instructions. If you don't have access to a desktop printer you can use a 3D printing service like shapeways instead. I'll show you how to use Photoshop to touch up and prepare your scan for upload. For this segment of the course basic experience with Photoshop is helpful. Looking for more background information about 3D printing and 3D scanning?
