- [Instructor] Because of the complexity of virtualization, I want to go through a checklist before we go further. These items need to be done before you can continue with this course. If any item isn't done, then later exercises may not work. When we did the Kickstarter install, the gooey wasn't configured. In order to use both the text and graphical consoles, a virtual graphics card needs to be added. Follow the tutorial in this chapter on how to do this. Also in that video, we configured our GRUB boot menu to start both tty0 and ttyS0 consoles of boot. The VMs we created in this course both have the acpid service running. If you create other VMs, make sure the acpid service is running so the VM shutdown and reboot menus work.
