- [Instructor] We'll be configuring the NTP client on RHhost1 for this exercise. The steps will be exactly the same for any other host. We already have the Chrony package installed, but if you're doing this exercise on a new host, be sure to install Chrony first. It's desirable to have all server times synchronized on our network. To set this up, we'll use timedatectl with a set dash NTP Boolean. In a terminal type in timedatectl set-ntp true, and hit Enter. Verify by running timedatectl again, notice that ntp enabled as yes. If ntp synchronized is no, we have to restart the ntp client to synchronize. Type in clear, and then type in sudo chronyc tracking, and hit Enter. The reference ID is the computer at which chrony is currently synchronized to. The reference time is when the time was last processed from the source. The system time may be different from the actual time. Chrony doesn't change the time, but…
