- [Instructor] For this video, you'll need both your rhhost1 and rhhost2 VMs running. We're going to set up the client configuration on rhhost2. Log into rhhost2 as user1 and open a terminal. To install the LDAP client packages, type in, sudo dnf install -y openldap - clients nss-pam - ldapd oddjob-mkhomedir and hit Enter. This installs the client package as well as the nss-pam-ldapd package, which is an ns switch module used to switch the system authentication to directory services. In our case, LDAP. These may already be installed but we want to make sure. For production LDAP system, I recommend using TLS encrypted connections to your directory servers. I will however, leave this as an exercise for you and for this video, concentrate on getting LDAP functional between the directory server and the client without TLS.
