- [Instructor] In order to prepare our CentOS 8 operating system for virtualization, we need to install some additional software. In a terminal on your CentOS 8 host computer, type sudo space yum space install space QEMU dash KVM space libvirt space virt dash manager, space libvirt dash client, and hit enter. Here we can see the packages that this command will install, press Y to continue. Let's talk about these packages. QEMU dash KVM provides a user-level KVM emulator and facilitates communication between hosts and guest virtual machines. Libvirt is the server and host-side libraries for interacting with hypervisors and host systems. Virt-manager is a graphical tool for administering virtual machines. And lastly, the libvirt-client package provides the client-side APIs and libraries for accessing libvirt servers.
