- [Instructor] This chapter covers Simple Mail Transfer Protocol or SMTP services using Postfix. In this chapter, we install and configure SMTP mail services using the Postfix mail server. Then we manage SELinux for SMTP services. We configure a local mail server. Then we create a null-client mail relay. And lastly, we create a mail gateway. It's impossible to adequately cover something as complex as SMTP mail servers in one chapter. However, this chapter covers a lot of the foundational knowledge and gets you started. If you need more training on mail systems, then search the course library for Postfix for more in-depth courses on the subject. Also, before you start, you might want to download and print the Postfix cheat sheet included with this chapter.
