Select DNF packages by name
- [Instructor] We can select packages in DNF with quite a lot of granularity. This comes in handy when you want to install or to move an exact package version or release of a package, or perhaps you want to install the 32-bit version of a package on a 64-bit system. Being able to list this information and then specify in DNF operations is very powerful. Let's use DNF to show a package with multiple installable versions. The package we'll list is xfsprogs because I know there are multiple versions of it available. Type into a terminal dnf --show duplicates list X-F-S-P-R-O-G-S, xfsprogs, and hit enter. Keep in mind that these version numbers were the most recent when this course was recorded. The version numbers may be different for you when you watch it. More than likely, there will be more results returned or the version and release numbers will be higher. If this is the case, you'll need to use the version numbers…
