Using Linux for network filesystems

- [Grant] Network file servers are critical for most network office environments. Using open source Linux servers is a cost-effective and time-efficient solution for Windows, MacOS, and Unix systems. In this course, we build both Samba and NFS network file servers. We create different types of NFS file shares with a focus on security and group collaboration and discuss the differences in NFS protocol versions. We also install all Samba packages and cover configuration file options by creating public and private shares. We also manage Samba users and access control in a real-world group collaboration scenario. I'm Grant McWilliams, computer science instructor and Linux enthusiast. Join me for my course, Linux System Engineer: Network Filesystems using NFS and Samba. Let's get started!
