iSCSI target introduction
- [Instructor] To install the iscsitarget and initiator packages, make sure both rhhost1 and rhhost2 VMs are booted. Different packages need to be installed on the iscsitarget and iSCSI initiator hosts. For the target, we will install the targetcli package on rhhost1. This will also install any package dependencies it may have. The targetcli package implements the open source Linux-IO iscsitarget in the kernel and replaces the iscsitarget utils package that was used on Enterprise Linux 6 and earlier. To install targetcli, log into rhhost1 and open a terminal. Then type in sudo dnf install -y targetcli and hit Enter. To ensure that the changes made in targetcli are persistent, we need to start and enable the target service. To start the target service, type in clear and then type in sudo systemctl start target and hit Enter. To make the target service persistent, bring your line back and replace start with enable and…
