Adding detail components

I'm going to continue creating a stair landing detail and I'm doing the hybrid approach, which is combining both model geometry and 2D detail components that are going to be placed on top of the view. In the previous video, I created a call out and adjusted the extents and visibility of that call out in order to just focus on just the stair landing So, strategically, what you're trying to do is leverage as much of the model as you can that will be useful to the detail and trying not to over-model the actual live 3D model in any way. If you find yourself creating components in the model that you're hiding in multiple views and the only reason you're creating them is to show in a large scale detail, then you might want to rethink that and consider doing those as detail components instead and let the model be just those elements that need to show everywhere. The stair and its landing are good examples of the kinds of geometry that we want to see everywhere, but then maybe all the little…
