- [Instructor] Many firms have standard libraries of typical Details that they use frequently from one project to the next and a lot of times those typical Details are saved in AutoCAD format. Now while it's certainly possible for you to create native Revit versions of those Details, and I do recommend you do that at some point in your Revit implementation, it can be a time-consuming affair and so in the interim you can certainly use those existing AutoCAD Details directly in a Revit project. So we can bring them in just like we could any other cad file and we're going to go to the Insert tab to do that. Now you certainly could use Link CAD for this task and a lot of CAD or Vim managers would insist on that but there's also this alternative right here called Import CAD and there's one or two slight variations between Link and Import that I want to discuss in this video, as well.
