Creating a detail component
- [Instructor] In chapter 05-05, creating a detailed component. We are in fact, going to create a couple, one is really easy and another one is going to be made from scratch. Now, when you create detail items or detail components then you need to use the detail item family so that it scales correctly. If you just put some random CAD file in then chances are it won't scale correctly. So using the detail item family ensures that providing you've got the correct size initially then it'll all scale accordingly. Now Revit has quite a few 2D detail items. You'll find them in the family. So you scroll down to families and detail items. These are the ones that are either loaded by default or just I've loaded in myself. We're going to make the button first, which is a 38 by 50. So if we expand, if it's not already expanded, detail items timber stud, right click on that new type, and then just change the name to 38 by 50 millimeters…
