Creating footprint roofs
going to look at the footprint roof. This is probably the simplest kind of roof that you can create in Revit, and it's a lot like a floor, so if you've created a floor before, then it's going to be a similar methodology. So, I'm in a floor plan called High Roof. It's usually not a bad idea to go to the level that you want to work on first, otherwise it might like if you're down in the basement or something it'll say are you sure you want to put a roof down here? So in this case, I'm in the High Roof already. Then, the roof button is here on the architecture tab, and if you're using the drop down, it's actually this first option right here, roof by footprint, that we want to look at. That'll take me to sketch mode, and there's a few clues that I'm in sketch mode. The first is the modify create footprint roof tab. The next is the mode panel with its big green checkbox and its red X. And then the other really obvious thing is that the drawing grays out, and that kind of lets me know that…
