Creating a gable roof
- Our next step is to draw a roof for our house, and where we want to be is: underneath the project browser, floor plans, and in the TOP plan which is the "Top of Plate" plan. Then, underneath that architecture tab, go to roof. Under properties, here in the type selector list, lets use the wood rafter eight inch. If we click here, we can see that we have a variety of different roofs that we could choose from, but we do want to use the wood rafter eight inch. Also, each one of those roofs have different properties associated with them. So if we would select on "edit type" then, next to the word "structure", select the edit button we could then see each layer of material which is associated with this type of roof. If this building was being built in a climate that had a lot of snow, then that roof would need to be able to support a heavier weight, in which case, things like the structure wood joist/raft here would need to be a thicker material.
