- [Instructor] This exercise is a dimensioning tutorial. It by far will not place enough dimensions for you to be able to actually build the structure, but it should get you used to using the various dimensioning commands so that you can place all the dimensions that you need to build the structure appropriately. The first dimension that we want to place is an overall dimension from side to side, and we'll do that by coming up to the Annotate tab and then selecting on the Align dimension, now it's tempting to select on the linear dimension because linear dimensions go from side to side, but I find that a align dimensions are a little bit more forgiving, which means that they're a little easier to use. So I will usually use align dimensions whenever possible.
