Linked files and phasing
- [Instructor] In this video, I want to talk about linking files and phase mapping when you do linked files, and I'm going to offer that as a solution to some of the limitations when working with building pads. Now, I thought I should show you what some of those limitations are before we get started. So I've created a building pad off to the side of this model here, and I'm going to go ahead and select it. And let's just look at a few of the issues that come up when you're working with building pads and phasing. So if we scroll down and look at its phasing parameters, you can see that this one was created in Phase 1 New. I'm going to change that to Existing, and then I'm going to demolish it in Phase 1. And that's not really the issue. So far so good. You can see that it is displaying correctly as demolition. But what if we move forward in time here? So I'm going to scroll down and locate my Phase 2 3D view and open that up…
