Tying the roof to the structure

- [Instructor] Now that our roof is in place, the next thing we need to consider is how do we make that attachment between our walls and the roof up above? Now we have a few different options, but the first one that we'll learn about is called attach top base. If we select on this back wall, we can see that attach top base is one of our options on the ribbon going across the top. If you select on attach top base, it'll then ask you, do you want to attach the top of the wall to whatever object that you select, or the base of the wall to whatever object you select? In most cases, when you're dealing with walls, you'll probably use top. Meaning that you'll want to attach the top of the wall, in this case, to the roof. But you may choose base if you had a dormer window up here on top of your roof. With a dormer window, you usually have a window up there that also has walls that sort of surround it, and then the walls sit on top of the roof. If the walls were sitting on top of the roof…
