Understanding phasing

- [Instructor] In Revit, phasing allows us to apply the fourth dimension or time to our projects. Now, this is accomplished using a very simple timeline sort of concept where each important point in time is mapped out as a phase. Now, the objects and the views within our project will then use those phases to change the way that things display throughout the course of our project. The out of the box template includes just two phases, existing and new construction and this is usually suitable for most projects but you can certainly add additional phases as project needs dictate. So, let's start with the idea that each phase is a key point in time and consider a really simple example. So imagine we had a project with three phases, an existing phase and two new construction phases. So we might see different stages of the project plot out along this imaginary timeline here.
