Using arrays to parametrically duplicate objects

- [Instructor] In this video we're going to duplicate one of our detail items using a parametrically generated array. Now, a parametric array is just simply a multiple copy command, but what I mean by parametric is that the parameters you use to setup the multiple copy will be remembered by the array and then you'll be able to actually adjust those later. So that makes it more powerful than just simply a multiple copy because you can later come in and change any of those parameters and it will have an impact on the rest of the members of that array. So in this case, I've got a single stair tread and I want to duplicate that stair tread for each of the three that I can see here in my detail and I want to leave it parametric just in case later, we come back and maybe show a fourth tread or maybe adjust the proportions or the slope of the stair, I'll be able to make those changes to the detail a little bit more conveniently using the array.
