Using reference planes, parameters, and constraints - Revit Architecture Tutorial
From the course: Revit 2020: Essential Training for Architecture (Metric)
Using reference planes, parameters, and constraints
on reference planes, parameters, and constraints to begin laying out our custom piece of family content. So I'm going to start working in the ref level floor plane And I want to first take a look at the two existing reference planes that are already here. So if you highlight one of these reference planes and click it, you'll notice that they have names. So this one is called center front back, and it's pinned, and it's also pinned. Now if you're not able to select either of these, just make sure you come over here to the Select drop down and turn on select pinned elements. So what I want to do is create some additional reference planes that we're going to use to start forming the overall length and width of the pool table that we're going to be creating. So I'm going to go to the create tab, and on the datum panel, you want to choose the reference plane button but make sure you're choosing reference plane not reference line. So they're not the same thing. And it's very important that…
